Sundays at Meadows held its first doubles tournament this morning, 3rd July. Eight teams competed in the event which was perfectly organised by Paul Snaith, with help from Brian Milsted - many thanks to both. Teams were drawn from two pools of players which were balanced to make matches as competitive as possible. The finals couldn't have been closer with both running to five sets. In the main event well deserved winners were Andy Townson and Filippo Rotunno with runners up, Ben McKay and Zybrand Jacobs. In the plate Laurence Muscat and Malcolm Cole narrowly came out on top against Ken Oliver and Peter Holt. Congratulations to the winners and runners up. A great morning of table tennis! |
