25/11/14 - Otford C vs Otford D
A great local derby between Otford C and D. The 9-0 result for the home team flattered them as there were several close matches. Heidi Smith in particular, playing her first game for the D team, came very close in all three of her matches. Probably a bit rusty after her lay off. So the Otford C bandwagon rolls on. Can anyone stop them? Surprisingly good refreshments in the form of cheese straws made by the delicate hands of Mr Homewood!

27/11/14 - Weald vs Teen & Twenty A
The two teams comprised the same players who contested their first match. This time the Weald turned the previous 5-4 loss into a 5-4 win. The match went to the wire. Having taken a two nil lead through Petar and Miro, excellent allround defender Graham Barnes pulled it back before Miro took it to 3-1. Then Roger and Petar failed to dent neither Nick or Graham to see the score come back to 3-3. Nick overcame Petar to put Tand20 ahead for the first time. Roger outdid Ming leaving the match finely balanced at 4-4. Graham took a 2-0 lead versus Miro. Miro took the next. Then the next to take it a fifth and deciding leg. After taking a commanding lead Miro was pegged back by Graham before the game closed 9 to Miro to take a really excellent game of looping, counter blocking versus retrieving and spin variation. Trouble is having problem entering result onto web site at present. Ps think they have Graham's rating wrong, it should be c2400.

What a great evening of table tennis. Nip and tuck all the way to the end, where in match nine, Peter Duke managed to get the better of Filippo Rotundo over four sets. All the matches were played in good spirit and endeavour but most of all, in a very sporting manner. The quality of some of the rallies was superb. Well done in particular to Filippo for out thinking me with his tactics for a well deserved win in four and to Adrian Knight for his win in five over Simon Wetton. Adrian Sainsbury picked up two good wins and then just lost out to yours truly over five terrific sets.
