Well done Sarah and Sue who were missing a third team member but were able to take 6 points back... Toby was so close to winning his first match in the league, he is improving all the time! That first win won't be far away I'm sure. Martin Dunville, Teen & Twenty C 19/01/15 - Byng Hall A vs Otford A No report submitted 19/01/15 - Leigh A vs Teen & Twenty A No report submitted 20/01/15 - Otford D vs Leigh B No report submitted 23/01/15 - Barming DV vs Weald No report submitted 23/01/15 - Byng Hall B vs Otford C No report submitted 23/01/15 - Teen & Twenty B vs Otford E
Unfortunately Otford E could only field two players, largely due to a lengthy injury list. Ben and Sue put up a good fight but to no avail as T & 20 B finished winners by a score of 7-2. All players benefited from Peter's selection of rare delicacies at half-way. Pork Pies and Sausage Rolls, extraordinaire, not the mention the chocolate biscuits! Obviously his wife did the shopping this week! Steve Day, Teen & Twenty B 12/01/15 - Leigh A vs Otford B No report submitted 13/01/15 - Otford A vs Barming DV A good & friendly match followed by a pint in the Bull! Tyron Stalberg, Otford A 13/01/15 - Otford C vs Teen & Twenty B A man-of-the-match performance from Paul Homewood made the difference in this exciting top of the table clash played in great spirit. Some exciting rallies and tense five setters, but Otford B ran out 6-3 winners to maintain their 100% record at the top and their push for the coveted silverware. High class refreshments thanks to some scrounged Earl Grey tea and Peter Holt's coconut rings! Peter Coles, Otford C 13/01/15 - Otford E vs Leigh B A very good match, close to the end. Well done Sue for a full house. Tony York, Otford E 16/01/15 - Teen & Twenty A vs Byng Hall A No report submitted 16/01/15 - Teen & Twenty C vs Byng Hall B
No report submitted Tweenies-101’s grip loosens on the title! The fourth round of the doubles competition saw Tweenies-101 lose their first matches of the season. First they lost 3-1 to Kapow, having narrowly beaten them 3-2 on their first meeting, before losing to The Mariners in three straight sets. So having won their first 12 on the bounce, they lost 2 in a row! This coupled with Kapow’s four wins from four in 2015 means that there is now a tie for the lead with 37 points each. Tweenies-101’s superior wins, however, mean they are top by a whisker. The two sides meet for the final time on the last evening of the season in what could well be the title decider. Aiming to stop this from being the case are The Mariners and the Sweaty Trotters. They are close behind the top two and are ready to capitalise on any mistake from the now favourites. The next round will be played on Friday 6th March at the Teen & Twenty Club, Tonbridge.
